There are people in this world that upon meeting (and sometimes without even formally meeting) you feel an instant comradry and connection with. I have been fortunate that as the years progress and I have become more connected with myself, that I have experienced that a few times now. That experience has taught me that each person that comes into our lives stand to teach us something about ourselves and the world itself; however good or bad we see these experiences, they help shape us and move us forward in this life. There are some of these individuals that were once a major part of my life and now no longer are. That’s okay because it just means that our purpose together was fulfilled. There are also those who have always been a part of my life, who seem to just always be there regardless of distance or trials we have experienced; our mission together is not yet complete. And then there are those friends who you may not have known for long but are somehow so familiar to you. Friends who feel like friends so easily, so naturally, who are so similar they seem to be just an extension of YOU, the authentic you. They make you see YOU for who YOU are and make it okay to love the real you. Their presence in your life makes you feel powerful, courageous, loved and accepted. It’s as if a special connection exists, drawn together by some higher level of consciousness. These are your kindred spirits!
I am so blessed to have so many wonderful sisters in my life, some of who I like to call my “soul sistas”. One person in particular who is, in the element of time, new to my life but who is definitely a soul sister and most definitely a kindred spirit is my friend Dayna. She is beautiful, wise, and courageous and has inspired me in ways she will never fathom!
I look forward to her little inspiring quotes she shares daily on facebook and on one particular day she shared this one:
I loved it! I immediately opened up Photoshop and out this flowed . . .
It’s totally US: Two feareless soul sistas letting our freak flags fly! Heehee
~I am glad to say that Dayna wholeheartedly agreed with the sentiment. Posted a copy on her blog too, which if, you care to be inspired, you should definitely check out.(http://thesparklingmartins.blogspot.com/2013/10/let-your-freak-flag-fly.html)
